Parent Participation

Throughout the school year there will be a variety of special classroom activities, celebrations and field trips. I encourage you to attend these functions when possible and to support them by sending needed supplies or treats. Your support of school activities makes your child feel important and sends the message that you value school.

Parent/Teacher Relationship

I believe that a good parent-teacher relationship is necessary for maximum school success. Throughout the year I will communicate with you through a daily behavior calendar, notes, telephone calls, monthly newsletters, quarterly progress reports and parent-teacher conferences. I encourage you to contact me if you have any questions or concerns at any time. You can call me at school (410) 677-5101, send me a note, or e-mail me at [email protected]. I am available for conferences regarding your child’s progress from 8:00 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. and from 4:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. by appointment on most school days.

Birthdays

Birthdays are special occasions for young children. If your child wishes, he/she may bring treats for the class that we will share during our snack time (we are not permitted to have “birthday parties” in the classroom). Please send a note a day or two in advance, so I can give you an exact number of children in the class. Please do not send birthday party invitations to school unless the entire class has been invited. Although it may seem convenient to distribute invitations this way, it can result in hurt feelings for those not invited.
